    Dining in style

    ^ Recent progress on our new restaurant: The Continental. ^ Rendering of The Continental. Decorative elements are being installed inside the Visitor Center in the space that will soon be our brand new, expanded restaurant, The Continental. You can see in the photo above that light fixtures, glass walls, and recessed lighting have been installed. The restaurant will have a warm, comfortable atmosphere, and an elegant modern appeal, taking cues from the historic house's Modern

    Outdoor spaces

    On the site of the Visitor Center, benches, outdoor seating and planters are being added. The brand new Visitor Center will also feature lake view outdoor dining on a patio of our new restaurant. We hope you'll enjoy relaxing in this new area and enjoy the scenery, the sunshine, and views of the lake. The Visitor Center is projected to open this spring. Stay tuned for news on the opening festivities.

    National Historic Landmark plaque added to the new buildings

    In 2016, Ford House was honored to earn the prestigious designation of National Historic Landmark. The designation recognizes the properties as places that possess exceptional value and quality in illustrating or interpreting the heritage of the United States. Ford House was honored in recognition of the design work of landscape architect Jens Jensen, in collaboration with the vision of Edsel Ford, architect Albert Kahn and interior designs by Walter Dorwin Teague.
