Lake Views

Lake St. Clair is one of Michigan’s treasures, a beautiful freshwater body of water north of Detroit. There are access points for boaters and fishers, but there are just a few areas where the public can enjoy spending time by the lakeshore.

Ford House is one of those places, one of the most idyllic for enjoying views of Lake St. Clair. With a grounds pass, visitors can bring a picnic and relax as they take in the beauty of the lake.

When the Visitor Center and Administration Building open, projected for spring 2021, there will be stunning vistas of Lake St. Clair from a variety of places.

Our new restaurant, The Continental, will offer a lakeview dining experience distinct from others. You’ll be able to watch the sailboats go by from The Continental’s outdoor patio and most of its indoor seating, as well. Our new event rental space on the second floor of the Visitor Center will feature expansive lake views from its floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony. You can also gaze out on the water from the plaza between the two buildings, and as you stroll along the path to Bird Island.

Here’s a peek at a few of the vistas the new Visitor Center will offer.

Stay tuned for more updates.
